In Kansas, a group called KanVote is kicking off a statewide campaign against efforts to require proof of citizenship for voters starting in 2012.

Legislation passed earlier this year calls for that portion of the new voter I.D. law to go into effect in 2013, after the presidential election. However, Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach is pushing to implement that requirement starting in March 2012
