Pentagon Feels Heat on Military Voting Blunders

The Department of Defense is begining to feel the heat from many days of bad national press about sorry military voting numbers.  Drudge moves the conversation. Half of the questions at the daily briefing this week involved the sorry numbers.  The DOD press office has activated.  The central problem is that FVAP blew many millions of dollars without opening voter offices on all military installations as required by federal law.  Less than half are operational. Military recruitment offices still are failing to follow federal law.

The DOD’s response is Twitter and Facebook, something generating laughs in some Congressional offices.

Like bureaucracies will, they are shooting the messenger bearing bad news.  But no amount of DOD counter-spin can overcome the fact that less than half of military installations have voting offices.  No spin can overcome the fact that DOD is failing to comply with Motor Voter regarding recruitment offices.  The “quite old” data was updated this week.  Here is some typical bureaucrat doublespeak:

“The Department has assisted more than 500,000 service members in the first six months of this year alone,” Little added.

Ah ha! That must mean the data showing only 50,000 requests for ballots must be wrong.  No, not really.  The 500k number means any contact, as Little had to reveal on follow up:

“though he acknowledged that the figure reflects “a range of services we’ve provided,” not just absentee ballot requests.”

Meanwhile, reporters are asking questions about particular partisans who have been hired by FVAP.  Stay tuned.

Obama Robocalls have wrong election date

Election Journal has more.

“Charges of voter suppression are flying in Pasco County, Florida. According to the County Supervisor Brian E. Corley, his office is being overwhelmed with hundreds of voters alerted by robo-calls from Organizing for America that early voting started today. OFA is the re-election organization for President Barack Obama. Early voting does not begin until Oct. 27. Some voters have even begun showing up at the office, only to be turned away.”

Of course this is not voter “suppression.”  If the Obama campaign makes robocalls giving people the wrong date of the election, that isn’t illegal.  There is no federal law violated when you give someone the wrong election date.

More on Daily Caller/Fox Race Bomb

Here is the Daily Caller story which broke last night on Fox.

PJ Media follows on with “More Race Incitement in Obama Speeches from 2007.”

“The revelation in the Daily Caller that Senator Obama gave a racially charged speech in Hampton, Virginia, to a group of black pastors in an unrecognizable dialect was discouraging but hardly surprising. This wasn’t the only nutty speech full of dishonestly and racial incitement Obama gave to a largely black audience in 2007.”

10 North Dakota State football players plead guilty in election fraud case

The big question is whether the coach will suspend them for any amount of time from the field or simply have them run wind sprints after practice.  All fraudulently signed the name of another to a petition.  We will see whether the university takes the act of fraudulently signing petitions as serious as the courts.

Earlier today, 10 current North Dakota State University football
players pleaded guilty to violating North Dakota election law during
their first court appearance in Cass County District Court.

The
10 are: Lucas Albers, Aireal Boyd, Joshua Colville, Demitrius Gray,
Samuel Ojuri, Brendin Pierre, Antonio Rodgers, Bryan Shepherd, Charles
(C.J.) Smith and Marcus Williams.

Judge Douglas Herman
sentenced the 10 to deferred imposition of sentence, 360 days of
unsupervised probation, a $300 legislative fee, 50 hours of community
service to be completed by April 15 and a $25 community service fee.

More double voting detected by True the Vote

TRUE THE VOTE ANNOUNCES NEW FINDINGS OF VOTER FRAUD IN OHIO, NEW YORK, FLORIDA AND RHODE ISLAND

HOUSTON, TX. October 2, 2012― True The Vote (TTV), the nonpartisan election integrity organization, today announces new research findings of voter fraud in Ohio, Florida, New York and Rhode Island. The Offices of Florida, Ohio and Rhode Island Secretaries of State, the New York State Board of Elections and the U.S. Department of Justice were formally notified of ballots cast simultaneously in both states for federal elections.

“Our initial belief that we had uncovered only the tip of the iceberg continues to be reinforced,” True The Vote President, Catherine Engelbrecht said. “Pew Research’s finding that 2.75 million Americans are registered to vote in more than one state continues to ring true. Unfortunately, we keep seeing more people possibly voting illegally. It’s important for voters to remember that no candidate or cause is worth a felony conviction. While some will no doubt commit the same fraud this year, we can find them in a matter of months. True The Vote calls on Florida, New York, Rhode Island, Ohio and federal officials to investigate and confirm our latest research.”

Ohio & Florida

Similar to last week’s findings of voters committing interstate absentee ballot fraud, True The Vote cross-referenced entire voter registration lists between Ohio and Florida and alerted appropriate authorities to voters with matching full names, birthdates, addresses and voting histories demonstrating ballots cast in multiple states in a single federal election.

True The Vote found more than 19,000 Ohio voters claiming Florida mailing addresses, according to state records. More than 6,390 people hold registrations in both states. True The Vote identified 534 individuals allegedly casting ballots in both Ohio and Florida. Today 34 cases were turned over to federal and state authorities.

“To his credit, Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted has indicated he is taking steps to address the situation with respect to voter roll maintenance,” Engelbrecht said. “However, these findings are particularly troubling given Ohio’s wholesale approach to dispensing absentee ballots for all this year. This combination of poor voter roll maintenance, emerging evidence of interstate fraud and Ohio’s new policy of absentee voting for all could create a perfect storm. The last thing we want is a repeat of the 2000 Election – this time by mail.”

New York & Florida

True The Vote offers new findings of absentee voter fraud between New York and Florida. Citing a new sample of less than one (1) percent of upstate New York voters, TTV found 48,630 voters claiming Florida mailing addresses. Of that sample, more than 19,000 are registered to vote in both states. Today federal and state officials were alerted to 32 new cases of interstate fraud between the Empire and Sunshine States.

Rhode Island & Florida

True The Vote also reports instances of voter fraud between Rhode Island and Florida. After the comprehensive cross-reference process, TTV found 53 Rhode Island voters claimed Florida addresses. More than 15 are currently registered in both states, with two (2) having voted.

Federal and state laws were potentially violated as a result of these activities. Ohio, New York, Rhode Island and Florida each require voters to cast ballots corresponding with their permanent residential addresses. Federal law, specifically 42 U.S.C. § 1973i(e) clearly states that voters cannot cast more than one ballot in the same election.

True The Vote (TTV) a nonpartisan, nonprofit grassroots organization focused on preserving election integrity is operated by citizens for citizens, to inspire and equip volunteers for involvement at every stage of our electoral process. TTV empowers organizations and individuals across the nation to actively protect the rights of legitimate voters, regardless of their political party affiliation. Daily Caller: “As college student, Eric Holder participated in ‘armed’ takeover”

An interesting perspective:

“As a freshman at Columbia University in 1970, future Attorney General Eric Holder participated in a five-day occupation of an abandoned Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) headquarters with a group of black students later described by the university’s Black Students’ Organization as “armed,” The Daily Caller has learned.

Department of Justice spokeswoman Tracy Schmaler has not responded to questions from The Daily Caller about whether Holder himself was armed — and if so, with what sort of weapon.”
