Bribes with Booze in Alabama Election

Another story you won’t ever hear about from the voter fraud denier echo chamber.  Tuscaloosa:

“An attorney representing some voters in the Tuscaloosa voter fraud case wants to shield their names from the public to protect their identities.

Tuscaloosa BOE candidate Kelly Horwitz said in August that she felt some voters were bribed for their ballot with the promise of free alcohol.

As part of their evidence, her legal team presented a list of nearly 400 voter names that they allege were involved in the voting bribery. These voters may be called to testify in the voter fraud case.

Monday, attorney Robert Prince filed a motion to try and shield these voters’ names. He also denies the allegations of bribery. Prince represents fraternity members from Sigma Alpha Epsilon and Pi Kappa Alpha as well as sorority members from Kappa Delta, Zeta Tau Alpha and Alpha Omicron Pi.”

Holder’s Talking Points Memo

“This whole notion of voter fraud and the need to come up with photo ID to combat voter fraud is really a solution that’s in search of a problem,” Holder said today.

Put aside for a moment that Holder opposes voter ID.  Fine.  But his election crimes unit is responsible for prosecuting double voting cases in a federal election.  For the top prosecutor to opine about the breadth and scope of a problem is, well, what we’ve come to expect from this Attorney General.

All politics.  All the time.

Perhaps he doesn’t know that his Department is responsible for prosecuting double voting, a crime aided by a lack of photo ID.   After all, Holder’s Department still has not brought federal charges in multiple double voting cases, including one in Ohio where the perp confessed on camera to voting for Obama six times.

Apparently General Holder doesn’t think voter fraud is much of a problem.  In saying so, he is telegraphing to would-be criminals everywhere how seriously his Department takes voter fraud.  He is putting them on notice, that as long as these folks are in charge, they needn’t worry much.

This is more than a bug.  This is a feature of this administration: aiding the lawless and irresponsible at the expense of the law abiding and responsible.  It is a policy fundamentally contrary American values and the rule of law.  Yet it is at the core of the administration’s “fundamental transformation of America.”  Claiming that criminal behavior is rare in elections, in the face of overwhelming facts to the contrary, is a feature of this administration.  In doing so, they enable more criminal behavior.  Instead of keeping his mouth shut, this Attorney General flips on the green light to voter fraudsters across the country.

“State asks court to force feds to modify voter registration forms”

Saying he is not willing to maintain a dual registration system, Secretary of State Ken Bennett is asking the court to order the federal Election Assistance Commission to modify its voter registration forms to demand proof of citizenship.

In legal filings Wednesday, Bennett said he needs an immediate order to ensure that Arizona and Kansas — which is seeking the same relief — are not denied “their sovereign and constitutional right to establish and enforce voter qualifications.” Without the order, Bennett said the state will forced to register unqualified voters.

Planned Parenthood attacks voter ID in Texas

In Texas, ABC reports that Planned Parenthood fighting to increase abortion, diverges and attacks voter ID.  Generally, the Democrats occasionally shift from the race card to the “women’s health” card but who would have figured.
Texas’ photo ID measure has been challenged by the Justice Department, which says it discriminates against minorities and low-income voters. But the impact on women, who may have trouble proving their identity because their names changed due to marriage, has been the latest headline-grabbing side effect.

Democrats hope these stories will help build public opposition to voter ID measures in states like Texas, North Carolina and Pennsylvania a full year before it matters in critical congressional and gubernatorial races.

“We are seeing now, thank goodness a year ahead of time of the November 2014 elections, just exactly what the consequences are,” Cecile Richards, president of Planned Parenthood and a native Texan, told a small group of reporters this morning.

“I do think that all of the lifting up of these stories are really important because they’re a chance for these legislatures to do the right thing,” she added.
