“Democrats challenge election results of 98th House District”. Apparently a voter not knowing their own birthdate is a “hypertechnical” reason to invalidate their ballot. The story:
Arguing that votes were tossed out for “hyper-technical” reasons, such as filling in an incorrect birth date or address, House Democrats are pushing to allow more votes to be counted in a race they lost in November by a razor-thin margin.
The 98th House District, which includes all of Tuscarawas and most of Holmes County, was decided by eight votes out of more than 46,700 cast, with Rep. Al Landis, R-Dover, edging out Democrat Joshua O’Farrell.
In a rare procedural move not seen in a century, O’Farrell, with backing from House Democrats, challenged the certified results, asking the full Ohio House to allow 39 rejected votes to be counted, and allow the review of another 13 votes that, because they were not clearly marked, may not have been counted.
