The Wall Street Journal takes a strong position against the Sensenbrenner/ACLU election bill which would impose vast new federal mandates on states.  This will hurt Sensenbrenner’s ability to get cosponsors for his bad bill.

The Departments of Justice and Housing and Urban Development have misused “disparate impact” statistical analysis to charge racism where none exists to extort money from businesses and override city zoning laws. This is also unnecessary because Section 3 of the Voting Rights Act is still in effect. “
