Link to video at The Hill: A lot of activity is obnoxious but certainly does not threaten the constitutional right to raise money for protected speech activity. The targeting of groups based on political views or ideology shows our laws are not being equally applied. Even worse, the laws were being used as weapons to chill their activity.

“Evidence emerges that Obama administration official knew of IRS targeting during 2012 campaign”
CBS Evening News: There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the
White House was aware of the IRS’ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector
General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury
Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS.
The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week. It’s the first evidence that someone within the Obama administration knew about the practice during the presidential campaign.

Outrageous behavior by the so-called rule enforcers.
The Washington Post: The Obama administration should stop trying to change the subject and
start explaining its actions better — if, indeed, it can.

Tea Party groups: “We could lose everything”
Fox News quoting the victims in this case: “We spent thousands of our own dollars fighting this,” she said. “If
this happens to one organization in America, we should all be outraged.”
Devereaux is among a group of activists, being represented by the
American Center for Law and Justice, who are preparing to sue the
federal government for the practice of targeting Tea Party groups. ACLJ
Executive Director Jordan Sekulow — once a lawyer for the Treasury
Department — told FoxNews.com he’ll likely file the civil suits next
Wednesday or Thursday on behalf of more than a dozen Tea Party groups
who say they were singled out by the IRS and had their tax-exempt status
severely delayed or denied altogether.
Some citizens only had so much money to pay lawyers to fight the illegal actions of the IRS in suppressing their legitimate political speech. A bunch of bureaucrats in DC successfully stifled the political speech of thousands of Americans. Some citizens gave up, some have not yet. Lawsuits need to be filed, heads need to roll, and burdens of proof in the law need to shift. The IRS can use their subpoenas and letter as wallpaper. These type of organizations need to be approved immediately and if the IRS gets evidence of wrongdoing, only then they can send one of their “probing” letters.
In a separate WSJ piece, Treasury Secretary Lew said that he was outraged when he heard about the abuse. Apparently, no one was outraged enough in 2012 to stop the illegal actions.

“Treasury Officials Knew of IRS Probe Last June”; Voter Suppression continued through 2012 General Election
According to the Wall Street Journal: An Internal Revenue Service watchdog on Friday said he informed Obama administration officials last June, in the heat of the 2012 election
season, that a probe was under way over the agency’s targeting of
conservative groups.
The Administration knew of the IRS targeting conservative organizations for non-approval in June 2012 and failed to rectify the issue before the 2012 Primary and General Election when there was still time to reduce the damage. In fact, according to sources, the approval of applications is still not forthcoming and it is almost mid-2013.
The Obama Administration allowed the voter and political suppression of conservatives to continue all through 2011 and 2012. Voter Suppression on a huge scale.
