One of the reasons so many Americans are cynical about the voting process is the partisan gamesmanship that comes with it. An egregious example is playing out in Fairfax County, Va., just southeast of Washington, D.C.” National Review
Sounds like the Republican forces are just starting to power up. Funny you don’t see any of the advocates of “civility” in election administration saying much.

New Mexico: “Lawsuit Targets Sandoval Voting Mess”
Sauce for the gander it seems: The lawsuit, filed this week, contends that the county had too few voting centers in Republican-leaning Rio Rancho.”
“Former Sandoval County Clerk Sally Padilla and Bureau of Elections Chief Eddie Gutierrez are the targets of a federal lawsuit that alleges voters in one city were deprived of their right vote.
Democrats Oppose Election Integrity in Nevada
The reactionary opposition by Democrats to election integrity continues in Nevada – this time to a proposal by another Democrat to beef up election integrity.
“Secretary of State Ross Miller has taken a lot of flak from his own Democratic colleagues over his proposal to add voter photos to county poll records — his alternative to other voter ID measures around the country that require a voter to carry a voter card in order to cast a ballot. Miller says his goal is to update an antiquated system that now relies on poll workers checking signatures when a voter goes to the polls. Under his plan, Department of Motor Vehicles’ photos of registered voters would be electronically transferred to county election departments and contained in election poll books at voting locations. Election workers could then match the photo with the voter. If a voter doesn’t have a license or government ID, an election worker would take his or her photo to be added to the database.”
This story shows how far some will go to oppose election integrity measures – even so far as to oppose free photo verification.
“Michigan election official seeks more transparency”
“Michigan’s top elections official wants to require political campaigns to report financial contributions within 48 hours after they receive them, one of several proposals aimed at giving voters nearly real-time information about the money behind the candidates.”
Sign Burglars in Florida
“Politics sure have heated up on the past couple weeks on Longboat Key with commission candidates saying their opponents or unknown individuals have stolen dozens of campaign signs upsetting what they say should be a fair election environment.” Longboat Key news.

Voter Impersonation in Iowa Election
Story here. “Linn County Auditor Joel Miller says an unidentified individual voted in person at a polling place Tuesday. That person signed into the voting register and cast a ballot. Later in the day, the actual voter showed up to find someone had already voted under her name.”
