The Virginia Attorney General was just on WMAL. He said that the Virginia Attorney General does not have authority to investigate the voter fraud. Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli says that only the State Board of Elections can vote to ask for an investigation. Cuccinell also said “there is no indication that prior to being ambushed by the camera he had any intention of doing this. At one point he said why don’t you just try to get these people to vote. . . . What we really want people to do in his position is to say ‘are you out of your mind?'” This is a lack of scienter defense, the sort of defense criminal defense attorneys would present in court.
The WMAL host (including Larry O’Conner from Breitbart) pressed the AG. “Isn’t there anything about this that is patently illegal?”
“It is so important for both sides to be part of the process of the vigilant defense of the right to vote and Pat Moran failed that test.”
“Do you expect the SBE to ask you to do it?”
Cuccinelli says, “no I don’t. Here they were talking about how one might commit and offense but there is no indication that any offense took place.”
End of story, it seems.

people paying cash for votes or doing favors such as spreading gravel on
driveways. But Kentucky also has had instances of prescription drugshere.

Virginia Pollworker Emergency
I received the below email from a county election official in Virginia. There is a pollworker emergency and citizens are desparately needed to work in the polls on election day. If you are at home on election day, or not taking available leave, you are not doing your job. Everyone who cares about the system running properly must not be at home or at work with unused leave. The email:
“Unless people are willing to travel to a nearby precinct to serve as election officers, many precincts will be operating with only one or two officers of one party and many of the other party. But in today’s world, we are tending to live in neighborhoods of like minded individuals. So unless folks are willing to serve beyond their home precinct, they may not be doing much to protect the integrity of the vote.
Many are busy on Election Day. Some may have already agreed to work for your party or an individual candidate outside the polls on that day. You can do more to help them by working inside the polls. You could be sure not to leave the party or candidate in the lurch, if you’ve already volunteered, if you were to work one half the day in the precinct and one half for the party (as long what you do for the party is at a different precinct than where you work as an election officer.) You may receive a small stipend for serving as an Election Officer. And bilingual skills are especially appreciated, as you can ensure that those of our newest citizens for whom English is not their primary language are getting non-partisan assistance when they need assistance in understanding and casting their ballot.”
In Virginia, go to this webpage to sign up. Do it now.
Ghost in the Machine
Dying veteran votes one last time for his country
The LA Times and NewsMax have two great companion stories of a aging veteran, battling cancer yet making one last attempt to vote for his country and honor his democracy. He has voted in every presidential election since he became in citizen in WWII after his initial internment in a camp.
His resilience has astounded doctors, his daughter said. Tanabe lifts
his arms, shakes his fists and tucks his knees into his chest every day
for exercise. He’s been holding on to cast his ballot. “We were
inspired to know that his commitment to being an American and exercising
his right to vote was that important to him,” his daughter said.…“I think he considered [voting] a responsibility, but also a fundamental
right that he fought for,” Barbara Tanabe said. “He saw people die
fighting for their country. The foundation of our country is the ability
to be able to vote and affect policies that change society.”
Don’t let that line stop you on Election Day.
“Six films to see before election day”
Not election related, but if you like movies, I have six movies to see before the election in two weeks.
Are Overseas Paper Ballots Obsolete?
Of course not. But the biggest pit someone stepped in in the last Presidential debate involved bayonets, which we learn today are very much NOT obsolete.
