Poll Also Reveals WHY Vast Majority Support Voter ID

While voter fraud deniers suggest that a vast majority of Americans support Voter ID laws only because they are “poorly informed,” a look at the actual Washington Post poll questions suggests otherwise:

“In your view, should voters in the United States be required to show official, government-issued identification — such as a drivers license — when they cast ballots on Election Day, or shouldn’t they have to do this?”
74% of respondents said voters “should be required” to show a valid form of identification, and 57% of the group said they felt “strongly” about the matter.

And why does the public – seniors and minorities included – overwhelmingly believe Voter ID “should be required”?

“Do you think voter fraud (pause) that is, people voting who are not eligible to do so, or voters casting multiple ballots — is a major problem, a minor problem or not a problem in presidential elections?

A staggering 81% responded that voter fraud is a problem– 48% saying it is a “major” problem 57% said support for the laws is based on a “genuine interest in fair elections.”

The public appears to understand the problem, and the solution.  More poll questions and responses at The Blaze.

Pennsylvania Democrat Pol tells voters NOT to obtain free voter ID

Amazingly irresponsible.  So much for the poll tax argument.

[State Rep.] Youngblood reiterated earlier statements concerning the language contained on free voter ID cards being offered by PennDOT. She discouraged people from obtaining them.

“Don’t get it,” she said after asking people in room if they already had the free ID.

Met with silence, she encouraged those in attendance to apply for the PennDOT ID cards that cost $13.50.

“Wisconsin Officials Selectively Enforcing Voting Laws”

Sort of like the US Department of Justice.  Brietbart has more.

“The Wisconsin Government Accountability Board’s recent release pertaining to election observer rights mischaracterizes the purpose and training which they must follow. Labeling these citizens as “boisterous” with tendencies to intimidate voters is a dangerous precedent.

An election observer’s primary purpose is to ensure that poll workers and judges are abiding by all state and federal laws – not just the ones they like. True The Vote volunteers documented over 75 incidents in 16 locations where poll workers failed to comply with laws and regulations during the June 5th recall effort of Governor Scott Walker. Common occurrences were improper procedures, obstructing the observer, improper voter assistance and overt fraud.”

Hawaii Election Day “Chaos”

Primary Election Day “chaos” on the Big Island, with as many as 25 of 40 polling places opening late, the County Clerk ducking reporters, and election staffers taking sick leave from the “dysfunctional” office.  State elections officials are investigating.

Hawaii Reporter reports:

Andy Smith, a Republican who helped coordinate poll watchers in virtually all of the Big Island polling locations, said the volunteer workers were “wonderful” and the problems, which ranged from no paper ballots or blue privacy shields on site, to no electronic voting machines, were not their fault.

He said poll workers were not trained properly, and in some cases, told voters to leave polling places if they could not find their name in the voting rolls… In addition, poll workers and watchers who had already voted by absentee noticed their names did not have an “AB” listed next to them as they should have to prevent absentee voters from voting twice – once by mail and once in the polls.

Problems in the Hawaii County Elections Division were apparent in July, prompting a letter from the state’s Chief Election Officer calling the County Clerk’s actions “unacceptable”.
