Questionable Registrations in New Mexico
New Mexico has the Taos Hum, and lots of strange registrations.
“The canvasser for Martin Heinrich for Senate stood at my door. He asked if “Jennifer Wangler” was home. “”No one by that name lives here,” I told him. “She’s registered as a Democrat to vote from this address,” the Heinrich canvasser insisted. “Never heard of her,” I replied. He showed me his clipboard, with a printout of the Democratic voters on our street. There she was, a complete stranger, registered to vote from our home address.
My wife and I have lived in the same house for 22 years. No one has resided with us except for some wonderful cats, none of which we have ever registered to vote. The previous owner lived in Pennsylvania and rented this property to a couple of English emigres whom we know. They are not named “Wangler.”
I called the Bernalillo County Clerk’s Office to report this situation. I was told that I would have to go to court to get it cleared up. “
Meanwhile, New Mexico is being told they aren’t allowed to remove deadwood from the rolls.
Voter ID Set for Implementation in November
Shelby County Heads to the Supreme Court
Birmingham News.
“Edward Blum, whose Project on Fair Representation is paying Shelby County’s legal bills in the case, said Thursday that Shelby County’s case is a “facial” challenge to the constitutionality of Sections 5 and 4b and unlike other cases from other states, which were filed in response to a specific action that the Justice Department took.”
Military Voting Resolution in Georgia
“A federal judge has ordered Georgia’s Secretary of State to extend the deadline to accept absentee ballots from military service members, their families and citizens living overseas in the event of a primary runoff election on Aug. 21.
The Justice Department sued Georgia last month over the issue. In an order issued Thursday, U.S. District Judge Steve C. Jones says “it is beyond dispute” that the state will violate election rules under the current system.”

“Watchdog Group” Defends Florida Foreigner Purge

“A top Inside-the-Beltway public-interest, watchdog group announced this week that it filed a Motion for Intervention with its client True the Vote to defend the State of Florida’s efforts to clean up voter registration lists against an Obama administration lawsuit. ”
NC Newspaper LTE: “Where is Eric Holder When You Need Him?”
Gaston Gazette:
“Why hasn’t the Obama Administration and the Eric Holder Justice Department ridden in to rescue those under-privileged, disadvantaged and downtrodden individuals who will no longer be able to purchase medication (prescription or OTC cold remedies)? Do they not care about these minorities who will not only experience discrimination but the “right” to health care under these 10 laws? Surely, if showing identification to vote is discriminatory then showing identification to purchase medication is just as biased against those they pretend to defend and represent. Where is Eric Holder when you need him?”
Chairman Smith Criticizes DOJ Voting for Partisan Hire
Judiciary Committee Chairman Lamar Smith is taking the gloves off and has much to say about the decision of the DOJ Voting Section to hire a partisan Democrat GOTV firm to assist in the lawsuit against Texas over Voter ID. I’ll have more on this blunder later this week at PJ Media.
