North Carolina vote fraud investigation

WWAY-TV reports problems with voters who never requested absentee ballots having ballots voted in their name.  Even worse, the investigating police officers reportedly told voters there was a lack of a signature match, but that’s ok because the voter “voted for the right man.”  This implies that the officer was a participant in curing any facial defects in the ballots, and also knew for whom the ballot was marked.  There were federal candidates on this ballot and George Holding should be all over this matter.  It may involve both voter fraud in a federal election as well as public corruption by the law enforcement officials offering to “run the ballot out to the house” to get it fixed up right:

“[An investigating police officer] said that, ‘Randall had sent in his absentee ballot, but they couldn’t make out his signature that good, but it’s OK because he voted for the right man.'” Corbett said. “And he said, ‘I could go get the ballot and bring it to your house,’ talking about my mother and father, ‘and ya’ll can take it inside, and one of ya’ll can sign it, sign his signature to it and bring it out to me and I’ll turn it in.'”  The problem is Corbett says he never voted at all. “I didn’t apply for or request an absentee ballot,” he said.

Philly Radio Wednesday

I’ll be on the Big Talker 1210 WPHT-AM with Michael Smerconish  during the 7a.m. hour talking black panthers and the amazing admission on MSNBC  by Steven Collins  that the voter intimidation case should not have been dismissed if it was the KKK doing the intimidating, but should be dismissed if it was the New Black Panthers.

Chris Matthews: Suppose those were white folks with white sheets?

Steven Collins:  Sure, then you have a legitimate case with intimidation.

Chris Matthews:  Wait a minute!  Where is the symmetry  here??

Canton (MS) indictments for vote fraud

The Clarion Ledger has more here.  Canton (MS) is where a nephew of the infamous Ike Brown recently won an election.  The Clarion Ledger reports “Ray Rosamond, an ex-alderman who lost the Democratic Ward 1 runoff election to Rodriquez Brown, has said the municipal elections – especially his race – were rife with fraud. He sees the indictments as a step toward long-awaited justice.”

The indictments remain sealed.  The District Attorney said “all three indicted last week are convicted felons who either registered or voted after being convicted of a disenfranchising crime.”

The Clarion Ledger goes on to mention Ike Brown: “The controversy surrounding Canton’s elections began in May when Rosamond alleged people outside of Ward 1 and Canton voted in the race and that some voters were provided illegal assistance by poll workers, which he said aided Brown to victory.  Rosamond also charged that Ike Brown, Rodriquez Brown’s uncle, interfered with the election.”

My latest at Pajamas Media – military voting, 17,000 wasted votes in 2008

My latest piece at Pajamas Media can be found here.  It details the disaster of military voting in the 2008 election, DOJ’s actions and the particular mess involving the Virginia SBE:

“A document filed in the military voting case of McCain v. Cunningham makes plain the disinterested enforcement system at DOJ for military voters. In 2008, the McCain campaign learned that the Commonwealth of Virginia was sending ballots out far too late for them to ever be successfully returned before the election. The campaign responded by immediately commencing a lawsuit.

Think about that: the very day before a historic election, a presidential campaign — with the distracting whirlwind of activity and bustle — was able to do what the bureaucrats at DOJ are paid to do, and didn’t: figure out Virginia was breaking federal law and file a lawsuit.”

More on Brooks County (GA) voter fraud

It looks like the inquiry involves absentee ballots.  Valdosta Daily Times:  “Times staff received numerous phone calls, emails and rants from concerned citizens on Wednesday following the posting of unofficial election results in Brooks County. Each one pointed out that, prior to absentee votes being counted, the incumbents in three races were winning by a rather significant percentage.”

Andy McCarthy: Contra Thernstrom

Former World Trade Center DOJ prosecutor Andy McCarthy has Contra Thernstrom at National Review.  What I want to know Abby, is can I get a photo of Stephen’s boots!?  Better yet, with him in them!   McCarthy writes:

“But what about the Panthers’ intimidating uniforms and jackboots? Don’t be silly, Thernstrom now counters. After all, ‘the boots were no different from a pair my husband owns.’ Oh, I see: How could anyone think these friendly Panthers — who were heard telling spectators, ‘You’re about to be ruled by the black man, cracker’ — were any more intimidating than . . . Stephan Thernstrom? That’s the first thing that popped into my head upon reading about Panther leader King Samir Shabazz serenading blacks with enticements like, ‘You want freedom? You’re gonna have to kill some crackers! You’re gonna have to kill some of their babies!’

‘Who cares what he’s saying?’ I thought to myself, ‘I just can’t take my eyes off his feet! Why, those boots look just like those ones that Stephan Thernstrom wears on television. What could be the problem?’”
