MN Majority Claims ACLU Voter ID Bounty

The ACLU is lucky they only offered $1000 for proof of ineligible voters voting under false names.

“On February 13th, the ACLU offered a $1,000 wager from their “Vote No 2012 Fund” that there hasn’t been a single case of voter impersonation in Minnesota in the last 10 years. Minnesota Majority, the government watchdog group that’s blazed trails in voter fraud research, has proven the ACLU-MN wrong and asked to collect on the bet at a press conference on Tuesday.”

Feingold’s criticism of Citizens United ruling reminds conservatives why they support it

Senator Feingold comments provide ELC readers and First Amendment lovers a reminder on the lawlessness and unconstitutionality of the tortured McCain-Feingold scheme that stifled First Amendment political speech.  Excerpt from article :

Calling a Supreme Court decision “lawless” and warning of “corporate domination of our political process,” former Senator Russ Feingold (D-Wis.) spoke Monday night about the dangers stemming from the recent removal of restrictions on financial contributions to political groups.  Feingold spoke out against the Jan. 2010 Supreme Court decision in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, arguing that it opened the door to increased corporate influence in politics.

“The decision issued by the court’s majority was essentially a lawless decision,” Feingold said, “not only because the substance of it gave corporations free reign over our political process — which is so fundamental to our democracy — but also because of its blatant disregard for the mores and traditions of the Supreme Court in handling difficult cases.”

Some Hispanic groups approve of Wisconsin GOP redistricting plan

Not all of Wisconsin’s Hispanics are up in arms about the new state legislative districts drafted and approved by Republicans last year.

The Milwaukee group Voces de la Frontera is part of a federal lawsuit against the new maps, claiming that they would dilute Hispanic representation in the Legislature.

But another Latino group, Hispanics for Leadership, said Wednesday it would sue the state if lawmakers agree to changes that Voces de la Frontera is suing for.

Zeus Rodriguez said the Leadership group believes the GOP’s maps will help Latinos, not hurt them – because they give Hispanics a decent chance of getting two representatives elected to the Assembly from Milwaukee instead of one.

One of the GOP’s districts at issue is just under 50 percent Hispanic, while another is just over 40 percent. Rodriguez says that’s enough to influence voters to choose Hispanic lawmakers in both districts.

Photo ID legislation to be heard in Nebraska

Right now, Nebraska doesn’t have any voting requirement. Voters can use a paycheck, bill, or bank statement.  (State Senator Charlie) Janssen wants that changed to a government issued ID, such as a drivers license. “There’s just no valid reason as to why somebody at the polls not wanting to show their ID, other than they want to commit fraud.”
