Weakness of Election Day Registration revealed in Wyoming felon voting

The Billings Gazette reports of a “Wyoming Felon Accused of Improperly Voting” after registering and voting on the same day, not allowing for time to verify the eligibility of the voter.

Elections officials say Phillips registered on Election Day 2008 and
then voted. The Campbell County elections clerk says that after every
voter’s name was later run through a database to check for felons,
elections officials learned Phillips was convicted in 2003 of forgery.
Court documents say Phillips’ registration was revoked, and she was
warned not to vote again This entry was posted in Uncategorized on by .

Wisconsin GAB Avoids Scrutiny

“Despite the Republicans’ ongoing criticism of the state ethics and elections board, the agency has avoided an audit, at least for now.

‘We were told (Friday) they had other priorities,’ said Reid Magney, a spokesman for the Government Accountability Board, the nonpartisan state agency that oversees elections and campaign ethics laws.”
