Ohio Nun and Voter Fraud

Here’s one you don’t expect to see, nun accused of voter fraud.

Cue the voter fraud deniers to tell us how rare the voter fraud is (now that it is undeniably more common than Sasquatch) and how voter ID wouldn’t have done anything to stop it.

Nonsense.  If there was a photo ID requirement for absentee voting, or some other requirement that mandates a unique identifier, then this couldn’t have happened.  Regardless, every time voter fraud appears, we hear the reactionary response of the deniers.

National Review on Fairfax Board Fight

One of the reasons so many Americans are cynical about the voting process is the partisan gamesmanship that comes with it. An egregious example is playing out in Fairfax County, Va., just southeast of Washington, D.C.”  National Review

Sounds like the Republican forces are just starting to power up.  Funny you don’t see any of the advocates of “civility” in election administration saying much.

Democrats Oppose Election Integrity in Nevada

The reactionary opposition by Democrats to election integrity continues in Nevada – this time to a proposal by another Democrat to beef up election integrity.

“Secretary of State Ross Miller has taken a lot of flak from his own Democratic colleagues over his proposal to add voter photos to county poll records — his alternative to other voter ID measures around the country that require a voter to carry a voter card in order to cast a ballot. Miller says his goal is to update an antiquated system that now relies on poll workers checking signatures when a voter goes to the polls. Under his plan, Department of Motor Vehicles’ photos of registered voters would be electronically transferred to county election departments and contained in election poll books at voting locations. Election workers could then match the photo with the voter. If a voter doesn’t have a license or government ID, an election worker would take his or her photo to be added to the database.”

This story shows how far some will go to oppose election integrity measures – even so far as to oppose free photo verification.
