“Going to Court in the Allen West Contest”

PJ Media Rule of Law:

“. . .Republicans in 1993 fought like crazy to add another provision to Motor Voter: Section 8. Section 8 requires states and counties to clean up their voter rolls to ensure dead and duplicate voters aren’t voting. Eric Holder isn’t so fond of enforcing Section 8 — his DOJ spiked at least eight investigations nto states with more registered voters than people alive. After public attention, his Voting Section Chief Chris Herren fired off some letters to offending states, but nothing else beyond bluster has issued forth from Herren.

Ironically, the robust public inspection rights citizen groups enjoy under federal law were opposed by the Virginia attorney general in a lawsuit brought by Project Vote. Virginia lost that case in the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, and now conservative groups will start using the law to ensure our elections are run the way they are supposed to be, and that only eligible voters are voting. . . .”

Breitbart: “True the Vote Sues St. Lucie County, FL Over ‘Botched’ Allen West Contest”

The story is here at Breitbart.

“. . . True the Vote filed a federal lawsuit against Walker, the controversial election administrator, for failure to comply with federal law. The Motor Voter law of 1993 grants the right to inspect election records, and ought to allow True the Vote to perform a “comprehensive, third-party audit” of the recount, the group claims.

Vote-counting in St. Lucie County, according to both the lawsuit and local press accounts, was deeply troubled, involving considerable confusion and missed deadlines in the original tabulation and subsequent recount.

Thus far, Walker has failed to comply with True the Vote’s requests to inspect the election records. The request included, among other things, all records of Walker ensuring non-citizens and ineligible voters did not participate in the Congressional election. . . .”

Major Vote Buying Investigation in Hamilton County (OH)

I’ve learned that there is a major vote buying investigation taking place in Hamilton County, Ohio.  The scam essentially is an Obama vote/I VOTED sticker for gift cards and cash scam.  In other words, voters who bring their “I VOTED” sticker to a particular person in Cincinnati are rewarded with something of value for voting, including gift cards at a major name grocery store.  Stay tuned.

Altered voter records discovered in investigation of Fulton County, Georgia’s elections “debacle”

A January 31 Georgia State Elections Board hearing revealed evidence of more than just mismanagement in Fulton County’s elections office:

Secretary of State Brian Kemp, who is investigating more than 100 voter complaints against the county from last year, said the evidence points to possible document tampering and calls into question the vote totals Fulton reported.  “Obviously, it appears that the documents were altered after the poll workers signed it,” Kemp said.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports on the potential voter fraud and beleaguered Fulton County’s recent history of elections “embarrassments.”

“Top GOP donors seek greater say in Senate races”

The New York Times reports:

The group, the Conservative Victory Project, is intended to counter other organizations that have helped defeat establishment Republican candidates over the last two election cycles. It is the most robust attempt yet by Republicans to impose a new sense of discipline on the party, particularly in primary races.

…The Conservative Victory Project, which is backed by Karl Rove and his allies who built American Crossroads into the largest Republican super PAC of the 2012 election cycle, will start by intensely vetting prospective contenders for Congressional races to try to weed out candidates who are seen as too flawed to win general elections.

Republicans see opening in Missouri for photo ID

Voter advocacy groups think photo ID is unfair, Republicans see an opening for reform.

In 2011, a Republican backed effort that mandated voters have a photo
ID cleared the Legislature, but was vetoed by Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon.

This
year could be different, though, because Republicans have
supermajorities in both the House and Senate, which could allow them to
override Gov. Nixon’s veto power.   Link
