The Washington Post:
“The bill, approved 20 to 19, concentrates minority voters in a new Southside district and changes most district lines. Democrats said the new map would make eight districts, six of them held by Democrats, more heavily Republican. The map, which now goes before the Republican-controlled House, also puts senators R. Creigh Deeds (D-Bath) and Emmett W. Hanger Jr. (R-Augusta) into one district. It also adds more Democrats to three already deeply blue districts. . . .
Sen. John C. Watkins (R-Powhatan) said the changes would give Virginia a sixth majority-black district and protect the commonwealth from possible litigation under the Voting Rights Act. He also said the map would improve on the lines that Democrats had drawn to benefit their party when they controlled Richmond’s upper chamber.”
Au contraire.
This looks like it might be the same old race game (aka “black max”) saga. It might be that the an intentional effort to redistrict on the basis of race was made. If so, the call for plaintiffs may commence shortly.

More Wisconsin Voter Fraud
“Prosecutors investigating two suspected cases of voter fraud“
“Milwaukee prosecutors are investigating at least two instances of suspected voter fraud from the presidential election in November, court records reveal.
Assistant District Attorney Bruce Landgraf confirmed Tuesday only that his office is looking at several referrals from area clerks after the November election, and not all of the reviews require subpoenas like those recently made public in the two cases.
In one matter, investigators seek records that might prove Leonard K. Brown voted twice in the November election, once in Milwaukee and again in West Milwaukee. The other suggests a Mukwonago man voted there and in West Allis.”
That good old same day registration.
“Missouri House passes elections bill”
“The chamber approved the bill, which would require that openings in most statewide offices be filled through special elections, in a 115-45 vote, making it the first major piece of legislation to successfully pass a chamber this session. The bill must also be approved by the Senate and signed by the governor. While the legislation isn’t directly tied to Missouri’s 8th District Congressional vacancy and would not change how former U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson is replaced, the special election has motivated lawmakers to move quickly on the bill.”
A question for House Judiciary Chairman Goodlatte on DOJ Voting Section Attorney Dan Freeman
ElectionLawBlog post to an in-depth Daily Caller article and other commentary at National Review Online at the Corner.
My question for the Chairman: How does the Voting Section explain to you how they can fairly enforce the federal voting laws when such partisan behavior is exhibited by DOJ Voting attorney Dan Freeman. Leading the boos at a national bipartisan televised event, the one day the people of the United States show the world the peaceful transfer or retention of power in our government.
Follow up Question: How does an attorney, who supposedly swore an oath to the Constitution and equal protection under the law, fairly uphold the scales of Justice when he is willing to oppose one party with such vehemence and fury? Do we trust attorneys such as Dan Freeman to objectively utilize the invasive powers of Section 5 in a fair and equitable manner?
There should be some explaining to your committee.
The Soros Pedigree of the New NAACP-LDF Head
The new head of the NAACP LDF is leaving her position with George Soros’ Open Society Foundations to assume her new job. Also, several Baltimore law firms have promised big checks to the NAACP LDF, a group which has fought against election integrity measures in places like Florida, Texas and South Carolina. Happy to publish the names of the firms if you want to email them. From the Washington Post piece: “Taking the top job at LDF requires sacrifices, starting with a lengthy commute. She no longer has time to pursue her broad interests and has given up directing the children’s choir at Mount Calvary AME Church in Towson and her seat on the board of the Enoch Pratt Free Library in Baltimore. She will no longer chair the board of George Soros’s Open Society Foundations. Three days a week, she leaves her home in Baltimore County and lives in New York, where LDF is headquartered. She oversees a staff of 75 split between offices there and in Washington, and she will be responsible for fundraising for the nonprofit, which operates exclusively from donations. She’s off to a good start: Soros’s son Jonathan and his wife donated $100,000 in November — the month Ifill was named to lead LDF. And several Baltimore law firms have pledged five- and six-figure donations for the next several years. LDF’s 25 lawyers litigate about 30 cases a year and participate in several more in a “friend of the court” capacity.”
Treacher Lampoons Daniel Freeman at Daily Caller
Jim Treacher has this piece on the infamous DOJ leftist lawyer at the Daily Caller. “Meet Daniel J. Freeman, the Justice Dept. lawyer who booed Paul Ryan at the Inauguration.”
“Back in the old days, when you did something stupid, it probably never went beyond your friends who thought your stupid actions were somehow awesome. Then came Facebook. . . . ‘Civil Rights Lawyer. Wandering Jew. Failed aspirant to hipsterdom.’ Oh, I’m sure there are plenty of hipsters who are very pleased with Dan this week. Let’s take a closer look at this American hero.”
