“Drop in Ohio voter registration, especially in Dem strongholds, mirrors nationwide trend”
There may be some explanation for the precipitous drop in Democrat registration but it cannot be a good sign for meeting the 2008 turnout models.
Voter registration in the Buckeye State is down by 490,000 people from
four years ago. Of that reduction, 44 percent is in Cleveland and
surrounding Cuyahoga County, where Democrats outnumber Republicans more
than two to one. An August study by the left-leaning think tank Third Way showed that the
Democratic voter registration decline in eight key swing states
outnumbered the Republican decline by a 10-to-one ratio. In Florida,
Democratic registration is down 4.9 percent, in Iowa down 9.5 percent.
And in New Hampshire, it’s down down 19.7 percent.

Unions join the Florida Bar in supporting liberal activist Florida Supreme Court judges
According to this story, the unions are joining in with the Florida Bar to protect the liberal activist judges on the Florida Supreme Court. The money will start flowing from the unions, the Florida Bar, and other left wing organizations.
Three justices are on the ballot where the citizens of Florida will determine if they should be retained. A “No” vote removes the justices and puts fresh faces on the court. A “Yes” vote gives them another lengthy term.
Having the unions rush to your side show how the Florida Supreme Court has become such an integral part of the Democratic coalition. Sure, this isn’t a partisan battle for a politicized court. If the Republicans in Florida need any more proof of the truth, look no further than the unions getting involved. How long until the teachers union jumps in. A large part of the population in Florida has already lost faith in the judiciary to maintain an objective non-politicized review of laws passed by legislature and signed by the governor.

“Encourage military personnel to vote”
Twenty-two U.S. senators, including John Cornyn and Kay Bailey Hutchison
of Texas, are concerned Joint Chiefs of Staff General Martin E. Dempsey
may have discouraged military personnel from casting ballots in the
presidential election.
“It is one thing to advocate ‘political neutrality as a core value’
in carrying out orders, and another thing entirely to be ambivalent or
even discouraging voting by service members, which is every citizen’s
right, and which would contradict official Department of Defense policy,” the senators wrote in a letter sent to Dempsey. They also allege the Department of Defense has failed to provide
on-base voter assistance at every military installation as required
by law.
