The Tennessean. “A Nashville woman was the first to take Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey up on his joking offer to give a ride to anyone who needed transportation to get a new picture identification card to vote.
Eileen Marhefka, 65, said an aide to Ramsey dutifully picked her up at her home in East Nashville on Wednesday and shuttled her to the driver service center at Tennessee Tower to get a non-driving ID card. The aide also advised her on how to get the card free of charge.”
ding, ding, ding. Round 12. Voter ID proponents are not throwing in the towel.
AP reports how Tennessee continues to bend over backwards in not only providing photo identification to whomever may need one. State and local election officials are also educating the public on what is necessary to bring to the polls to verify identity at the polls.
Austin Thompson, an organizer for Occupy Wisconsin, was arrested for voter fraud. His response? The arrest is “a distraction.” More here.

Voting fraud is no respecter or region or party. There have been voting problems in counties as diverse as Jefferson Davis, Holmes, Benton and Madison Counties. Some of these problems have happened in Republican primaries, some in Democrat primaries and some in the general election. Voting fraud is indeed a real and current problem that must be addressed once and for all by the voters of Mississippi.

The measure is a voter suppression tool. It is tantamount to the poll taxes and literacy tests imposed by a Jim Crow society to keep African-Americans from voting decades ago. The birth certificates and other documents required to obtain a government-issued ID cost money. Many Mississippians simply cannot afford to pay for them, especially in these tough economic times.
The allegations of voter Fraud irregularities in Erie Couny, New York include ballot tampering, dirty tricks and outright election fraud problems. Putting aside political shenanigans, most concerning would be the potential inside-job nature of the marking of ballots.
“The national media paid attention today to the alleged ballot tampering in Erie County, and Republican County Executive Chris Collins took advantage of it in a Fox News appearance to harshly criticize his Democratic opponent, Mark C. Poloncarz. Poloncarz, in turn, blasted Collins.
The alleged tampering centers around at least 10 ballots mailed to absentee voters in Lackawanna who complained the ballots were already marked for Collins on either the Republican or Independence lines. The investigation is focused on a Democratic clerk at the Erie County Board of Elections, but county sheriff’s investigators have emphasized that they do not suspect the tampering was linked in any way to the campaigns of either Collins or Poloncarz.
“What we’ve seen in the last week leading up to the elections is a disturbing trend of dirty tricks and outright election fraud here in Buffalo and Erie County that involves my opponent and his supporters, a Democrat operative in the Erie County Board of Elections and also the executive director of the New York State Democratic Party,” Collins said in an interview on a brief Fox News segment known as “Voter Fraud Watch.”
