The adminstration of Pennsylvania Governor Corbett is backing voter ID.  “The state’s top election official came out today in support of a GOP-backed effort to require voters to show photo identification every time they cast a ballot in Pennsylvania.”  Pittsburgh Post Gazette.

Bruce Adelson has warned the Arizona redistricting commission that DOJ is unlikely to adopt redistricting plans unless they produce a certain baseline result.  Add this advice to the list of reasons for Arizona to go straight to United States District Court for approval of redistricting plans.

Roll Call describes the Georgia congressional plan:

A proposed Georgia redistricting map released Monday would add a new Republican-leaning Congressional district in the northeastern part of the state, shift the districts of many incumbents and likely keep GOP Members safe, while shoring up freshman Rep. Austin Scott (R). The plan, offered by the Republican-controlled Legislature, also significantly endangers Rep. John Barrow (D).

Link.  Brisson said he expects there to be challenges to the new maps as that is just a standard procedure.

“They say they feel good going to court,” said Brisson.

He added the number of voters in each district are very close and if the maps are determined to comply with federal regulations then the law suits will become a moot point.

“There’ll be some fussing, I’m sure,” said Brisson.
