Georgia Supreme Court upholds Voter ID

Atlanta Journal Constitution.  And so ends a multi-year saga. 


“As did virtually every other court that considered this issue, we find the photo ID requirement as implemented in the 2006 Act to be a minimal, reasonable, and nondiscriminatory restriction which is warranted by the important regulatory interests of preventing voter fraud,” Justice Hugh Thompson writes.

Here.   “The caller claimed the fraud happened at housing complexes to the disabled and the elderly, When someone allegedly helped voters mark their ballots.”

EAC Top Heavy

In testimony, EAC officials said that 51.7% of budget goes to Management expenditures.  3.6% grants.  The Inspector General says “overhead” is too high.  You don’t say.

Here.   “Richards said by telephone Friday that for small jurisdictions with limited staff and resources, this requirement can prove costly and pose administrative challenges.”  I don’t suspect we will see that quote again.

Washington Examiner on “My People”


Here.   “U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, who is black, used the phrase “my people” in congressional testimony this week. It was an unmistakably color-coded and exclusionary reference intended to deflect criticism of the Obama Justice Department’s selective enforcement policies. It backfired.”

Indiana Secretary of State indicted for voter fraud

The Secretary of State was indicted today for voter fraud.  More here.  I’m sure this is one instance of voter fraud that won’t be ignored.
