The Wall Street Journal: This bill really isn’t about the Shelby County decision. It is about having the federal government manipulate election rules to propagate racial gerrymandering and guarantee success for Democratic candidates. It would make race a predominant issue in election administration, instead of what its goal should be—making sure every eligible voter is able to vote, regardless of race.
NC State Rep. Lewis: “NAACP hypocritical on voter ID”
WRAL reports from North Carolina: Rep. David Lewis, R-Harnett, pointed to a flier of “dos and don’ts” distributed to marchers, which included the instruction that marchers should “bring photo identification (driver’s license, passport or other valid id) with you and keep it on your person at all times.” Lewis pointed to polls showing that voter ID is popular among voters despite the opposition of liberal groups.
“The NC NAACP has filed suit in court to block this common sense idea,” Lewis wrote. “However, the NC NAACP requires their protesters to maintain valid photo identification on their person throughout the march. The idea that Chairman William Barber and his followers find it more important to carry their photo identification with them when marching than when electing the President of the United States is reprehensible.”

Leftist Center for American Progress “Voting Rights Playbook” to Congress: Require burdensome disclosure in all 50 states and implement federal observers in polling places across America
On page 24 of the Center for American Progress’ Voting Rights Playbook, they recommend to the Congress: “Implement robust state-based disclosure and data-collection standards and make it easier to implement federal election observers.”
This recommendation, encompassed in the new amendment to the Voting Rights Act, would require robust state-based disclosure in all 50 states, the ability of voters to ignore state voting laws when state and counties fail to meet the federal disclosure deadlines and make it easier to have federal observers in every polling place across America. The proposed new Voting Rights Act is even more invasive than the previous law and it will impact all 50 states.

Free Speech: Americans For Prosperity in $30 million campaign against ObamaCare
Since August, Americans for Prosperity has put more than $27 million into ads against vulnerable Democratic lawmakers around the country for supporting Obamacare, the Washington Post reports.
“These ads are really part of a wall-to-wall effort that Americans for Prosperity has led for five years in opposition to Obamacare,” Slade O’Brien, AFP’s Florida state director, said in a statement. “From writing Congress, to grassroots rallies and educational events, to radio and television campaigns, our members have stood in opposition to this law from every angle,” he continued.
