Democrats want Election Day on Saturday, the Sabbath for Jewish voters

According to the ABC blog, Democrats apparently think Saturday is a better day for Election  Day and filed legislation in Congress to mandate it by 2014.

Two top Democrats suggest it would be more convenient in these times to
vote on the weekend instead. They want Saturday to be the new Election
Day, and ideally for them, that would start in 2014.

The sponsors conveniently ignore observant Jews and other religious groups recognizing the Sabbath on Saturday.  Just recently, the conflict was raised overseas in Scotland where thousands of Jews were forbidden to vote.  Similar concerns were expressed in the recent Nevada primary with appropriate accommodations were made.
