New Times Times: A longtime aide to John C. Liu, the New York City comptroller and current Democratic candidate for
mayor, testified on Wednesday that she had offered to reimburse donors
for their contributions to Mr. Liu’s campaign, a tactic that prosecutors
have said was part of an illegal fund-raising strategy used by some Liu
aides.
…Judge Richard J. Sullivan of Federal District Court asked Ms. Lee, out
of the jury’s presence, if she understood that she had no immunity and
that her testimony could potentially “give you some exposure to criminal
prosecution.” Ms. Lee said she understood both points and was prepared
to go forward.
