Texas Secretary of State John Steen said Wednesday in Waco that he isn’t focused on the politics of the Voter Identification Law, but educating the public about the new requirement to present photo ID in order to vote. “I think voting is a sacred right, so I’m working very hard to make sure everybody who is eligible to vote is able to cast their vote and have their vote counted,” he said. Steen spoke Wednesday to a group of about 20 local officials from Waco and surrounding cities to educate them about how to administer the upcoming changes. Link
