Excusing Criminal Conduct Among Political Class

Excellent editorial in the Orange County Register describing attitudes all too familiar about voter fraud:

“Yet, since the Wright conviction, there have been rumblings among the political class disparaging the “seriousness” of the crimes for which these officials have been prosecuted. Those perspectives illustrate the height of arrogance and cynicism toward the voters held by too many whom, quite frankly, feel they are more important than the law itself. Thankfully, while arrogance is not a prosecutable offense, lying and perjury are. And now, two juries have spoken, delivering a powerful message: Politicians are not above the law.”
