Operation Amicus at DOJ: Voting Litigation from the Sidelines

The Justice Department continues to avoid real voting rights litigation.  This time, Operation Amicus in in Yakima, Washington.

“But the Justice Department disagrees in a 13-page brief that says little else about the case, which has been in litigation since August 2012.”

It’s a low risk strategy that produces no results.  It’s about show, not substance.  It’s about padding numbers for speeches by the Attorney General, not electing minorities to office.  It’s about a Voting Section more comfortable with pontification than litigation.  Among the things that must radically change in 2017 is this timid Potemkin policy.
